June was such a fun month for us! We were able to do several home visits and also get our Farming Program up and running. We are so excited for the new additions to our program!
Village Home Visits
We were able to visit 3 of our kids that we are supporting from Village Homes. Baby "S" and Baby "M" were officially discharged from the Malnutrition Treatment Program this month. They are growing day by day and really enjoying their homes. We are so thankful for the people who are making them feel so loved and welcomed.
"A" has mostly recovered from his injuries and we were able to reunite him with his mother and younger brother. He is excited to return to school in August!
Providing 20,000L of Clean Drinking Water
We have been able to provide a clean drinking source to the community through a well that pumps into two 10,000L tanks that can be supplied to the community.
This is the first source of clean drinking water in the community. Everyone is very happy to be able to have clean water so close by!
Thanks to everyone who made this possible!
Isa Graduates!
We are so proud of Isa as he is near completion of his Cooking and Bakery classes from Sonrisa School of Baking and Culinary! We had so much fun celebrating him and all his accomplishments, we can't wait to see what is next for him.
Farm to Table
We are excited that we have been able to start farming on almost 3 acres of land. We have planted potatoes, maize, cabbage, collards, carrots, onions, tomatoes, eggplants, pumpkin, squash, ground nuts, and rice. We also have made small demonstration nursery beds so that families are able to come and learn how to make "kitchen gardens" at home. Malnutrition is such a problem within our area, we are hoping that if we can educate the community with nutritional options they can add to their children's diets to improve their well being.
Prayer Requests:
Pray for Baby "S" and "M" as they continue to improve and that they will stay healthy to continue gaining weight.
Pray for our children in school and in our village homes as many of them have suffered from Malaria the past few weeks.
Pray for our farmers as they are planting crops and educating other farmers in the area.
Pray for our staff as we identify children in need of our support.
As we are restructuring our organization, we are really growing fast and it is increasing our need for more programs and more staff. If you would like to become a monthly sponsor so we can continue the work we are doing here in Uganda, click the link below.
With Love,
