Impact Report 2022

We are so thankful for all of you who stood with us in 2022 as we made huge changes throughout our organization. We could not have made it this far without all of you who prayed for us, advocated, and donated to help us continue serving those in Uganda.

Because of You...

A Few of their Stories

Baby "J"

He entered our residential care program in July after being severely abused and starved by his stepmother. A neighbor reported the case to police and he was having severe malnutrition and a few broken bones.

Since July, "J" and his caregivers have worked hard to help him reach the milestones of an average 4 year old. We are so happy that he has started preschool and is fully walking on his own now. He has been able to experience love, safety, and care through our home.

We can't wait to watch all that he is going to accomplish in this coming year!

Martha, Rose, Anna & Scovia

Martha was referred to us from our Senior District Child Welfare Officer. When we met Martha she was very sickly with a heart condition. Her dad had left the family and their mom had sold almost all of their land to be able to buy medication for Martha. We were able to step in and help Martha with her monthly medications and doctor's appointments to get her back on her feet. Soon after, Martha's mom offered to begin helping in our garden. She has now been employed at our garden for almost 4 months.

We have watched her use her monthly earnings to totally transform her family.

We are so happy that Rose (Martha's Mom) is now able to provide her children with the basic necessities. We are also happy that Martha is completely healthy and will be returning to school in February.

"G"

"G" was a referral from our Senior District Child Welfare Officer. She was brought when neighbors grew concerned after she had been burnt on her hands by her parents. Immediately we rushed her to a hospital where they did emergency surgery to try and salvage her hands. She was in hospital over a month while they monitored her hand function. She went through countless hours of physical therapy, she had to learn to write with her left hand as her right hand was barely functioning. She has taken some months but her right hand is almost fully functioning again. She has just gone for another surgery to fix her pinky finger but we believe that she is going to make a full recovery and will be beginning school in March! Her strength and bravery have continued to amaze all of us. She always has a smile on her face and is always encouraging those around her.

When we have children referred from cases of child abuse, child neglect, or child torture. It is our duty to follow up the cases in court. We are so lucky that our Judges care for our children so much. They were able to allow "G" to share her story on a camera in a separate room instead of sitting in front of a court room full of people. She testified against her parents and shared what happened to her. Her parents plead guilty and they have been sent to prison on Child Torture charges.

Building Progress

We are in the roofing stage of the NEW babies home! We are so excited to hopefully be in this home in March and be able to serve more children!

Big Plans for 2023

14 Acres of Farm Land

We are expanding our agriculture program. We were able to find land that has buildings for staff quarters, offices, and livestock. It is sitting on 14 acres of land that we will be able to use for more food production and family empowerment programs. We are so excited to see how this farm is going to impact so many this coming year.

Community Empowerment Program

In March, we will be launching our CEP Center! This will be a place for us to hold monthly trainings to train community members in business trainings, parenting classes, and discipleship. We hope that this center will help empower more members to start up their own businesses to be able to provide for their families and those in their communities.
