June Newsletter

"God is a good God who loves our children, writes all their days in His book, and gives His angels charge over them."

In the month of June, we welcomed 4 new children into our care, we used over 1,300 diapers, prepared over 365 bottles for our babies, harvested over 1,000 pounds of peanuts from our farm, and reunified a teenage mother who had been sex trafficked.

Aaron

We received a call from a Good Samaritan that there was a baby they had seen who needed intervention. We quickly engaged with local authorities and went on ground to discover a baby boy with his mother who was under the influence of drugs and alcohol all while breastfeeding. We proceeded to investigate and she had not had any prenatal visits and couldn't give the name of the baby. Our team was able to assume the baby to be around 2 months old.

We rushed him to the hospital where he was diagnosed with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. He remained in the hospital for a few days where he suffered from withdrawals. He is now in our home with us as we trace for other family members that are willing to support him. His mother has been taken for drug rehabilitation and we will continue checking in on her.

Juma

Juma joined us this month after a referral from our local government hospital. He had been staying with his grandfather, when suddenly he died and an elderly neighbor took Juma into her home.

Although the neighbor tried to do everything for him, being that she was elderly she was having a hard time providing for him. Juma has a medical condition that he will need an operation in the near future. He is now home with us after spending two weeks admitted in the Malnutrition Ward.

We are preparing him as we hope he will be able to go for surgery in July to repair his physical deformity that is causing him a lot of discomfort. Please keep him in your prayers as he continues to try to gain weight and the strength he needs to undergo an operation.

Learning to Pray

This month the children's bible story lessons have been centered around prayer. They have learned different ways God hears our prayers and even our 2 year olds are reciting "I can talk to God anytime I want." We are so thankful for our staff and "mamas" who invest so heavily in our kids emotionally and spiritually.

Building Update!!

We cannot believe we are almost finished with the construction of the new babies home! This month all windows were brought for installation and the first coat of paint started going on. We are so excited to be in this new home very soon!

We are so thankful for all of you who joined us in prayer and support in the month of June, as we head into this new month, we hope you will continue to pray for the children in our care.
