Whispers of Love is governed by a joint Board of Directors- a Nonprofit Board in the US and a Ugandan NGO Board. Meet our Board Members below!


Rachel Gregory
Founder & CEO
Rachel Gregory is the founder and CEO of Whispers of Love, a faith-based children’s home in Uganda dedicated to caring for vulnerable infants and young children. Since launching the ministry in 2014, Rachel has devoted her life to protecting children who have experienced abandonment, abuse, and extreme poverty, helping provide them with a safe home, medical care, and the opportunity to grow in a loving family environment. Serving in Uganda for over a decade, Rachel works alongside a dedicated Ugandan team to ensure each child receives holistic care and the chance to thrive. Her leadership is driven by a deep belief that every child is created with purpose and deserves to be known, loved, and given hope for the future. Rachel is also a mother to Abel and Kisakye, who share in the joy and calling of life and ministry in Uganda.

Coleman Bailey
Joint Board Member
Coleman Bailey is the Founder and Director of Children’s Refuge, an organization committed to serving orphaned and vulnerable children in some of the most challenging areas of the world. Since 2015, his work has spanned Asia, Africa, and Eastern Europe, with a particular focus on conflict-affected regions, where he has personally helped launch new initiatives in some of the most difficult environments. Through Children’s Refuge, Coleman has worked extensively across the African continent to support and strengthen children’s homes, including long-standing involvement with organizations such as Whispers of Love. He has spearheaded initiatives that both care for children and promote adoption in a variety of cultural contexts, with a focus on building sustainable, long-term solutions. In addition to his work with Children’s Refuge, Coleman has spoken internationally, developed initiatives to train young leaders, and co-founded C2, an organization dedicated to equipping the next generation for service. He also serves on multiple boards across several countries.

Alyssa Durfey
Joint Board Member
Secretary, US and UG
Alyssa Durfey's background combines executive business training, public health leadership, and advanced laboratory science with hands-on experience leading laboratory operations, quality engineering initiatives, commercialization efforts, and enterprise process improvement programs. She has worked across startups, research organizations, and global life science companies to improve operational efficiency, strengthen quality systems, support regulatory readiness, and scale complex laboratory operations.
She is an author, educator, consultant, executive board member, and entrepreneur with a strong interest in healthcare transformation, advanced diagnostics, public health applications of laboratory science, and strategic operational leadership. She is currently completing a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) in Clinical Laboratory Science and Practice while continuing to expand my work in healthcare operations, quality systems, and organizational performance improvement. Her long-term interests include operational leadership, healthcare innovation, laboratory strategy, regulatory excellence, and enterprise transformation initiatives. Honors include recognition as a 2020 American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Top 40 Under Forty honoree.

Ariel Kaylor
US Board Member
Ariel Kaylor is a nonprofit professional and community builder who cares deeply about creating opportunities for others and showing up where it matters most. With over seven years of experience in program management, fundraising, and partnership development, her work has always centered around service, relationship-building, and driving meaningful impact. Currently working in the renewable energy space, Ariel focuses on economic impact and community engagement, helping communicate how large-scale projects benefit the people and places they touch. Prior to this, she built her career in the nonprofit sector through leading programs, supporting students and young professionals, and helping generate resources that sustain mission-driven work. Ariel is grounded in the belief that each of us has a responsibility to ask, “what is mine to do?” and to act on it with intention. That mindset has shaped her path, guiding her toward work that serves others and contributes to something bigger than herself. Her passion for service started early and has remained a constant thread throughout her life, from local community work to international service experiences. Joining the board of Whispers of Love Uganda is especially meaningful to her because of the organization’s commitment to providing safe, loving homes and long-term support for children and families. She believes deeply in the power of consistent care, strong communities, and investing in people to create lasting change.

Rachael Nabwire

I Rachel Nabwire serve as the Country Director and Accountant for Whispers of Love, a nonprofit organization dedicated to caring for vulnerable children in Uganda. I am deeply passionate about child welfare and committed to creating a safe, loving, and supportive environment where children can grow, learn, and thrive. With a heart for serving children in need, i want to work to ensure that every child under the organization’s care receives proper education, healthcare, emotional support, and daily necessities. My leadership combines compassion, integrity, and strong financial stewardship to help the organization operate effectively and transparently. I believe every child deserves love, protection, opportunity, and hope for a brighter future. Through my dedication and faith-driven mission, i continue to advocate for children’s well-being and empowering communities to support and protect vulnerable families and children across Uganda.

Paige Sorensen

Paige Sorensen is a dedicated professional with extensive experience in complex financial analysis, case resolution, and administrative operations. Throughout her career, she has developed strong expertise in navigating detailed financial matters, interpreting policy and regulatory guidelines, resolving high-level account discrepancies, and ensuring accuracy and accountability in sensitive processes. Known for
her leadership, organization, and clear communication skills, Paige excels in collaborative environments that require precision, integrity, and thoughtful problem-solving.
Beyond her professional experience, Paige is deeply committed to serving vulnerable populations and strengthening communities through volunteer work with organizations focused on health access, family
support, and community well-being. Her service includes involvement with the Missouri Mission of Mercy, homeless shelters, and several agricultural and equine organizations. These experiences reflect her passion for health equity, compassionate service, and uplifting individuals and families facing hardship.
Family is at the center of Paige’s life. She has been happily married for 18 years and is the proud mother of three children, including one whom her family officially adopted in 2023. Her personal experience with adoption and building a loving family has strengthened her empathy and deepened her commitment to causes that protect and support
vulnerable children and families.
Paige currently serves as Treasurer for Whispers of Love Uganda, where she brings her financial expertise, organizational leadership, and heart for service to support the organization’s mission. She is passionate about helping provide safe homes, education, family support, and long-term stability for orphaned, abused, and vulnerable
children in Uganda while supporting efforts focused on orphan prevention and family reunification. Through her role, Paige is committed to helping steward resources with integrity and ensuring every child has the opportunity for safety, security, and a brighter future.
